Million Dollar Difference

If you’ve watched television, read a magazine or listened to the radio in the last year, you’ll probably agree that reality shows are all the craze. As a regular reality show watcher, I thought it would be interesting to have a virtual reality show in the form of a daily blog chronicling the life of a person during their transformation from middle class family to millionaires. Will they keep their job? Will they squander their new earnings before they make it to millionaire status? How will their lives change? What will their family and friends think? Will they stick with them? Will they make new “friends”? Will there be a million dollar difference?
So how will they do it? That is where you, the reader comes in. Without your participation, this transformation won’t take place…the difference won’t be realized. It really won’t take much from each individual. It could be a person that decides that they want to become a sponsor of the website. Or it could simply be a person visiting one of the sponsors to help pay the people that pay us. Unfortunately that alone won’t bring in the resources necessary to make the million dollar difference. It will take some generous donations from individuals. Generous may be one dollar or it could be more… anything can help. Now I realize that most people won’t simply give their money away and expect nothing in return. What would make people want to help? I have a solution. Give everyone that donates to the cause the opportunity to be the next person to receive the million dollar difference. The story will get rather dull once the first transformation takes place, so we will need to start it over. And who better than the people that helped make it happen? So to make it fair, I will give everyone an equal opportunity. One chance per dollar donated. Which means if you donate ten dollars you will have ten times the opportunity of the person that only donates one dollar. Money donated can be in the form of a direct donation or through buying sponsorship.
So what do you think? Am I crazy? To that I answer, every time you go to the movies or watch a professional sporting event you are doing the exact same thing. What about the television shows that you watch? It is the same thing. Why not this? It should be fun. In fact, it could be you. The first daily blog will commence when the first sponsorship or donation is received.
